Supporters of Hon. Musa Kallamu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer for Mayo Belwa Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, have held a protest challenging the outcome of the Saturday election that favoured APC candidate Ibrahim Musa Italiya.
The youths took to major streets in Mayo Belwa, holding posters and chanting songs of solidarity appealing for the restoration of Kallamu’s Mandate whom they described as the winner of the election.
They alleged that the election was tempered with by APC in some polling units and appealed to INEC to immediately reverse the declaration of Ibrahim Musa of APC as winner and announce Musa Kallamu of PDP as the authentic elected Member of the constituency.
Speaking to journalists on the protest by the youths, Hon. Musa Kallamu said, “The result that was given to us by our election observers does not tally with that of INEC, as a loyal party member, I will wait and see what action my party will take on the matter.”
While appealing for calm among his supporters, Kallamu said his campaign council will meet with the party to chart the way forward on the matter.
“There was over voting in Yelwa Zango, Wuro Mana and GSS mayo Units, some BVAS were emptied,” he added
On his part, the Director General Musa Kallamu Campaign council, Mr Peter Daafe said some BVAS were deliberately deleted after the election in favour of APC Candidate.
He said the campaign council is compiling relevant documents to challenge the matter legally.
